Process-First Data — Live Data Integration

This version pulls live public data (World Bank, Wikimedia) and uses it to drive the process simulation.

Live data sources & intent

This page demonstrates a process-first approach by mapping live indicators into node states. It currently uses:

  • World Bank — life expectancy (biological), GDP per capita (economic), trade (% of GDP) (supply-chain proxy).
  • Wikimedia Pageviews — simple social/attention proxy for a search term.
How it maps to the simulation
  • Node energy is seeded from per-country life expectancy or GDP (normalized).
  • Connectivity is influenced by trade intensity (higher trade → stronger links between nodes).
  • Social attention (pageviews) alters short-term noise/connectivity to simulate viral spikes.
Usage notes
• The page fetches data live; if an API fails it falls back to embedded sample data.
• No API keys are required for the chosen endpoints (World Bank and Wikimedia).
• You can change the social topic term in the controls to see different pageview patterns.
